FAQ

  • Who is the SONICSHELL for?
It’s perfect for podcasters, voice-over artists, content creators, and remote workers who want to improve their audio quality—especially when recording in less-than-ideal environments like hotel rooms, offices, or untreated home spaces.
  • How does the SONICSHELL reduce noise and echo?
The shell is made with acoustic tiles made from recycled PET plastic, which can reduce external noises. The angled geometry of the sound absorbing panels further decreases the likelihood of reverb within the shell itself. SONICSHELL tests: Food court test -
  • What microphones are compatible with SONICSHELL?
The Logitech Blue Yeti and Rode NT-1 have been verified to fit in the SONICSHELL using the microphone adapter. Bottom exit XLR mics such as the NT-1 require a 90-degree XLR cable to fit. The microphone adapter supports mic holders that use standard 5/8 thread. Other mics with an included stand will likely fit as well without the need for the microphone adapter.
  • How long does it take to set up the SONICSHELL?
With a little practice you should be able to set up the SONICSHELL in around one minute. It may take a bit longer if you're also using the microphone adapter.
  • How can I best position my mic in the SONICSHELL?
To experience the best results, the microphone should be positioned as far into the SONICSHELL as possible. For end-address mics such as the SAMSON Q2U, you can remove the back triangle and allow the end of the mic to extend out of the SONICSHELL.
  • Where do I install the mic adapter.
The mic adapter can be connected from either the front or the back of the SONICSHELL by attaching it to the bottom panel. When installing the adapter from the back, it is helpful to install the mic adapter track onto the base hexagon before adding the other two on top and installing the triangles.
